Overview

Compassion, understanding, and unity for all of humanity.

At The Seventh Year, we are driven by an unwavering commitment to compassion, understanding, and unity for all of humanity. Our mission is to uplift and serve, inspired by the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. We engage in initiatives aimed at improving the human condition.

Access to housing

We work toward safe, sustainable housing and practical paths to stability.

Informed well-being

We value informed well-being, including interest in organic living and homeopathic perspectives. Health choices should be grounded in evidence and discussed with qualified healthcare professionals; homeopathy is not a substitute for proven medical care.

Financial sustainability

We support financial education and stronger foundations for economic independence.

Humanitarian care

We engage in humanitarian efforts, work to address hunger, and support research that advances human well-being.

Through our actions, we aim to exemplify compassion, support, and unity. Beginning in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, our vision is to make a meaningful impact and grow our reach nationally and globally. Together, we aspire to create a better world for all.

Stable homes. Stronger families. A future with dignity.

The vision we carry forward

What guides us

Our name points to the sabbatical year described in Deuteronomy 15: a time marked by generosity, release from burdens, and care for a neighbor in need. We believe those values can shape how we live and serve every day.

Our Christian faith guides our work. We seek to uphold God’s commandments and advance His Kingdom through honesty, compassion, generosity, and service—living those convictions by example and welcoming people with respect.

Moving forward, together

We are building relationships and exploring practical ways to connect families with knowledge, people, and organizations that can help. We are at the beginning of that work; we will be clear about what is planned and what is in place as it develops.

The Seventh Year: Our Guiding Principles

The Seventh Year carries forward Sindy Heard’s vision of helping people build stable homes, stronger families, and a better future. These seven principles guide our decisions, our partnerships, and the way we serve.

  1. Put love into action.

We live out God’s teachings through compassion, honesty, humility, and practical service. We welcome people of every background and treat each person with dignity and respect.

  2. Make room for a fresh start.

Inspired by Deuteronomy 15, we believe in generosity, easing burdens, and creating opportunities for renewal. We help people address hardship while supporting their ability to shape their own future.

  3. Strengthen homes and families.

We support safe, stable housing, responsible homeownership, and healthy family relationships. Our work considers the needs of individuals and families today and the opportunities available to future generations.

  4. Encourage financial responsibility.

We pair compassionate support with practical education and thoughtful planning. Our goal is to help people meet essential needs, make informed decisions, and build lasting financial stability.

  5. Protect freedom, safety, and dignity.

We support qualified partners working against human trafficking, abuse, and exploitation. We respect personal choices, protect privacy, and require informed consent when sharing someone’s story.

  6. Build community through partnership.

We bring together people, businesses, and organizations with the willingness and expertise to help. We choose partners who share our commitment to integrity, responsible service, and meaningful results.

  7. Be accountable for what we receive and promise.

We treat every gift of money, time, knowledge, and trust as a responsibility. We use resources carefully, honor commitments, and communicate honestly about our work, its results, and its limitations.

Put care into practice

Our values become useful through action.

Begin with a practical guide, learn what our partners do, or offer knowledge your community can use. We are building this work step by step and distinguish future programs from help available today.
